Auto repair shop owners and technicians can earn up to $20 per hour for footage of their everyday work with Shift.

Owners set the boundaries

Before anyone records, decide which bays, workers, and categories of work can participate. License plates, vehicle identification numbers, customer paperwork, diagnostic screens, and personal items can reveal information that should stay private.

Employees should know exactly when to stop recording. Customers and vendors should not become background footage simply because they entered the shop.

Safety does not bend for the camera

The recording setup must work alongside eye protection, lifts, ventilation, guarding, and the shop’s normal procedures. Do not reposition yourself, skip an inspection, or alter a safe sequence to produce a better angle.

Apply based on everyday work

Describe the shop as it operates today: the type of vehicles or equipment serviced, the size of the team, and the work that occurs regularly. Shift will determine whether that environment matches an available project.

Shift pays up to $20 per hour for footage of everyday work. It does not guarantee a fixed amount of recording work.

Technicians need the shop’s authorization. Owners who want several employees involved should apply for the business and identify the person responsible for the program.
